Duck and Cover...

Propaganda From The Trenches

Super Mario World
Bonzai Bill is just about to splatter poor Mario like spaghetti and meatballs.

Exactly where are the cannons that fire these giant Bullet Bills, anyway?

More SNES promo stuff... Super Mario World and a mini poster from Star Fox.

Good thing Mario's got extra lives to spare.

Fox McCloud looks anything but tame (possibly rabid).

Flyin' High Again...

Super Mario Bros. 3
(NES)

Sticky Mario

Blazing into the summer with Super Mario Bros. 3 still occupying the top spot for 600 months in a row (give or take).

There's been a resurgence in Bond's salty escapades, and GoldenEye 007 has shot up the ranks.

Some renewed interest in Super Mario Bros 2, possibly with buzz about the Phanto Fan Club...

Alien Races

You Must Have Jedi Reflexes...

Celebrating May The Fourth with a collection of snapshots from quite possibly the best Star Wars video game ever, Star Wars Episode I: Racer.

Get a massage from a Twi'Lek twin (or both) before sitting down to engage in one of the galaxy's fastest (and most dangerous) sports (second only to hunting Jedi).

Space Trash Talk...

Always love a salty backstory:

"After Mars Guo makes advances on Sebulba's massuse Anne Gella, Teemto Pagalies enters the Boonta Eve Podrace fueld by jealousy."

That's hot - Seriously.
It must be a million degrees in that desert.

Push the big green button to start...

I don't care what universe you're from - This is the only racing pod shaped like a donut.

Unlimited Power!

Very fast - Very dangerous.
Where's the sign-up sheet?

Heavy Traffic

And May you find some cool Star Wars trinkets at a yard sale for a buck or two.

Prequel Power...

The Dark Side Clouds Everything

A few more "beta" magazine scans, with Nintendo Power taking a look at Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64, and Star Wars Episode I: Racer.

Stacked Deck

James Bond Classics 2016
TWINE Card # 52
(card back)

Just a Glimmer...

More treasures found by way of traveling junk dealers...

They might have a thousand items, little of which actually piques my interest.

Still, it's worth a browse simply because of the treasures that can be unearthed.

And it costs nothing to take a peek at their wares.

Found an entire set of trading cards from The World is Not Enough.

TWINE is probably my second-favorite Brosnan Bond flick. (My favorite Brosnan non-Bond movie is After The Sunset)

Was also a fan of Zukovsky's return in TWINE, as it loosely ties into GoldenEye.
Very seldom do we see characters re-appear like this.

TWINE Trading Cards

The World is Not Enough
by SciFiHobby
Total Cards: 72

James Bond Classics 2016
TWINE Card # 24

From the back of the card:

"At L'Or Noir casino, 007 orders a martini - shaken, not stirred - and tells a large security officer that he needs to see Valentin Zukovsky. The man denies the request and tries to intimidate Bond, who disarms him in a split second. 007 then calmly drinks his martini, as Mr. Bullion, another of Zukovsky's henchmen, pleasantly invites him to see Zukovsky."

James Bond Classics 2016
TWINE Card # 51

From the back of the card:

"Bond lures Zukovsky to his caviar factory at the edge of the Caspian Sea, in order to ascertain his involvement with Elektra. However, Zukovsky's henchman, Mr. Bullion, spots 007's car parked nearby. As a secret operative for Elektra, Bullion discreetly makes a phone call to alert her that Bond is still alive. She sets in motion a plan to kill Bond, once and for all."

"Can't you just say a 'hello', like a normal person?"

James Bond Classics 2016
TWINE Card # 52

From the back of the card:

"Dressed provocatively, Christmas Jones momentarily distracts Zukovsky inside his caviar factory. Suddenly, Bond appears with his pistol drawn, demanding to know what Zukovsky's relationship is with Elektra. Zukovsky pleads ignorance to any knowledge about Elektra's involvement with Renard, or the bomb that was stolen earlier that day."

Catching a Buzz...

And of course, the memorable helicopter with tree-clearing buzz-saw blades...
The scene featuring an attack by a chopper equipped with dangling blades of death was originally intended for the GoldenEye movie...

It took years before this stunt could be safely implemented, eventually finding ts' way into The World is Not Enough.

Standard Operating Procedure:

It really is necessary to drive quite so fast - AND to destroy every vehicle you get into.

"Q's not going to like this!"

Only even knew of the 007 trading cards because of the merchandise advertised in the back of the GoldenEye Player's Guide (a couple VHS Collectors' Sets can also be seen).

Can even browse the entire set of GoldenEye cards online at Trading Card Database:

While it's not the kind of thing that I'd actually go about ordering, finding an entire set on a table was too tempting to pass up.

Fashion Statement:

Also just noticed that Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Hailey Clauson looks a bit like Denise Richards in her calendar poses from May 2024 - Especially with Clauson's swimsuit being similar in color to the dress worn by to Denise Richards. The lovely Hailey Clauson will grace the wall for the entire month (ultimately being archived in a drawer and retrieved for re-enjoyment in 2030).

In Bloom...

Another random image collected ages ago...
Killer Instinct character design concept art for B. Orchid.

Apparently her original name was shortened from "Black Orchid".
Kinda explains her Goth-like / Zorro-ish apparel.
(Or with just a dash of imagination, a PVC clad dominatrix...)

The lady in green was a memorable character in the Rareware's Killer Instinct series, and the only female in the original Killer Instinct (1994).

Needless to say, she instantly became a fan favorite.

A quick peek at her bio:

B. Orchid as featured in Killer Instinct Gold (1996)

More female characters were introduced in KI Gold.
So much raw talent on display...

Kickin' Ass

Come on girls, play nice!
Is that a Jungle Aztec theme in the background?
